    All sumo game yusho

Hi Kintamayama, I liked this topic you started after 2010 Haru Basho putting together all yusho winners. Did you ever do this for the next Basho: Natsu, Nagoya and Aki? I didn't see any. Or you have decided not to do it any more. Just asking. Achiyama

    FAWL - Aki Basho 2010

I don't think this will change my ranking, but in the name of acuracy, I think I have only 1 (one) 0/3, NOT 2 (two), and this is Aran with 0 wins (days 1-3 High Group Winner), and I think I have 1 (one) 6/6, NOT 0 (zero), and this is during days 1-3 the Lower Group - Gagamaru has 3 wins, and Koryu has 3 losses. Am I right? Respect, Achiyama In fact, each day we count points as it follows : 3 pts for the rikishi you placed as winners and 3 pts for the rikishi you placed as losers (a winner and a loser for each of the 3 Groups). The 0/3 scores are not counted for a same rikishi in a whole period, but for 3 rikishi played as winners or losers for a same day. You got 2 0/3 pts with losers at Days 9 and 11. On day 9 (period 3), you had the following picks for losers : High Group - Aran, Middle Group - Tosayutaka and Low Group - Gagamaru. But Aran won against Wakanosato, Tosayutaka won against Koryu and Gagamaru won against Kasugao. On day 11 (period 4), you had the following picks for losers : High Group - Kaio, Middle Group - Kitataiki and Low Group - Tamawashi. But Kaio won against Harumafuji, Kitataiki won against Tosayutaka and Tamawashi won against Kimurayama. In these two situations, you had none good selection for losers, so 0/3 pts. In the same way, you didn't have 6 good predictions on the same day during all the fortnight, so no 6/6 pts. I don't know if my explanations are clear, if they're not please tell me and many thanks to participate at FAWL. See you in november ! Thanks for your clarification. I was thinking wrong whether a winner had 3 wins in the whole span of 3 days, and not about the 3 different group reps in one day. Now it s clear to me. I am pretty new in this game. This was my second basho. I'd appreciate if you tell me what is the weight of these 0/3, 3/3, 0/6 and 6/6. Is it just for determining the different sansho, or are used as tie-breakers? Thanks. Achiyama

    Absent/Withdraw/Return - Aki 2010

He's fine. He dropped to 2-1 after a loss to Aonosho on Day 6 in a bout that wasn't listed in the Day 6 results post and wasn't picked up by the Sumo DB. He's scheduled to face Jd25 Mori today (Day 8). Why the Sumo reference torikumi does not give accurate information? There, he is enlisted with a record of 2-0-1, and there is no bout of his posted for day 8 ??? Achiyama The Sumo reference website is fixed. What was the problem? Day 6 and Day 8 the Torikumi for Jonidan division started from Jd25 to the end, missing the ones for Jd1 to Jd24. As Aratoshi is Jd21, there was no info about his bouts. But now everything is fixed. Thanks for those who are responsible for the Sumo reference website and have fixed the problem. Best Regards, Achiyama

What happened with Aratoshi Jd21 (the Nagoya jonokuchi yusho winner)? He had 2 wins on days 2 and 3, and then disappered. I didn't see anybody posting his withdrawal. Is he hurt? Is he gonna be back? Does anybody know anything about him? Achiyama

As today there are no bouts featured on 21 game, I use some time to ponder. I don't think the time of application is a good tie-breaker, to say it in other words, to be the only one. I have a suggestion for deciding the winner in case more than one person is on the top with the same score. The suggestion is to have 2 or 3 bouts in addition to the regular 21. The players will predict the score as usual. These 2 or 3 bouts will be used only in case there are more winners. If the first tie-breaker can determine the winner, o.k., the rest of the tie-breakers won't be needed. If the first tie-breaker can't determine the winner, we go to the second tie-breaker. If the second tie-breaker doesn't determine the winner, we go to the third tie-breaker. If after the third tie-breaker the tie is not broken, THEN we can go to the time of picks submission. I hope in this way, the determination of the winner will be more fair. Any opinion? Achiyama

    Lowest Division Games

Hi Itachi, 1/3 of the basho is over but you haven't posted any standings list yet. Maybe you are very busy, but last basho it was very nice and informative to have your temporary listings. So, my question is are we gonna see such listings this basho? Best Regards, Achiyama

I agree. I am so sorry Profomisakari! You are right, and I am WRONG, but something is happening today with me. :) I apologize also to Kuroimori and Susanoo for starting this debate. Obviously, much ado about nothing. Kuroimori has 3 wrong: bouts ## 11, 14 and 17, so 5 right, and Susanoo has 4 wrong: bouts ## 9, 10, 18 and 19, and 4 right. I'll shut up and won't bother you in the future. Once again I am sorry. Respectfully, Achiyama

Hi Profomisakari, I am sorry but I think I found 2 mistakes in the Standings Table. It was not my intention to pick on you, I just created an Excel file for my use with all the participants and 2 errors popped up. Kuroimori should have 6 points, instead of 5, and Susanoo should have 3 points, instead of 4. Hopefully, nobody is angry with me, but I just wanted to be a fair game. :) Best Regards, Achiyama

Already noted, Achi. It is being reworked as we speak. You are in sole first place with 5. I knew that you'll notice it. But I thought it would be of help to point out this inaccuracy. We all are human and mistakes are possible. And I understand that one of the tasks of this Sumo forum is that every member has the right to interact with the topic owner. And my experience with the Bench World Cup was more than I expected. I admire all the referrees with their appreciation of the player's suggestions and pointing out if there were inaccurate scores posted. So, that's why I took the liberty to post the above blog. Thanks for not being angry, but understandable. Respect, Achiyama

Hi Profomisakari, Sorry to bother you, but I think there are some inaccuracies in the Standings after Day 2. In Day 2 there were 3 bouts (not 2), and I think my score is 5. Best Regards, Achiyama
