Thanks for the answers! ;-) I will check the papers that you recommend me. And.... one more question Is there any Japanese Sumo analyst that you would recommend me to read? (Does Mainoumi writes somewhere?)

    Newspapers

Hello there. B-) I am in Japan now (unfortunately not in Nagoya). Besides the net, I want to read sumo news in newspapers (in Japanese). Is there any newspaper that you recommend? I buy the Nikkan sports; is there a better one, with more interviews, etc?

Who will be the next Ozeki?

I think that unless Kisenosato and Baruto start doing some serious degeiko with the heavy hitters, they will never become Ozeki. On the other hand Goeido made a really good performance, I see him getting better and better. Kakuryu looks serious.... Tochiozan... mmm... (Bearded disguise...)

    Hakuhou's preparations Haru 2009

Training with Kyokutenhou is not going to improve his preparation very much. (Sign of disapproval...) Hope he goes to another heya for degeiko. Any news on Harumafuji by the way? Haven't found any.

Yeah!!! I found that sign in Himeji's main street. Nice to meet you Harry. (Sigh...)
  7. Asashoryu commented yesterday on Harumafuji's Ozeki promotion party that he wishes that the new Ozeki will become a Yokozuna one day. Is that possible??? (In a state of confusion...) I don't think so...

    KaioU preparations- March 2009

I checked the news and found this one: http://sankei.jp.msn.com/sports/martialart...12115010-n1.htm It is written that because of a sharp pain in the abdomen Kaio was hospitalized with appendicitis suspicion. :-P 虫垂炎の疑い I don't know if there was any report in which is written that appendicitis was actually confirmed. In that case for sure he would have had an operation.

Who will be the next Ozeki?

Actually, Kisenosato is the rikishi (from the poll) with the best record against Sanyaku in the last year with 48.2% of victories. Baruto has 44.4%, Goeido 29.7% and Toyonoshima 44.2% Harumafuji, before becoming an Ozeki had a 61.22% against Sanyaku during 2008

Who will be the next Ozeki?

But... can he (Goeido) make it this year or we have to wait a little longer? Looks like there are no Mongolians on the list...
  12. There's a new Poll in the spanish blog Sumo Japones (Japanese Sumo). It is about who you think will be the next Ozeki. If you want to vote please go to: http://sumojapones.wordpress.com/2009/02/11/nuevo-ozeki/ Personally I think Goeido will surpass Baruto and Kisenosato.

Hello! I've been following this forum for a long time, I don't know why I didn't sign up earlier. :P I started watching sumo 10 years ago, when I was in Japan for my first time. It was natsu basho, when Dejima got the Yusho. At that time I didn't understand anything about sumo so I had to figure out many things by myself. Now I am helping Leonishiki doing some translations for http://sumojapones.wordpress.com/ I go to Japan twice a year or so, but haven't been able to go to a honbasho. :( Hello everybody and yoroshiku onegaishimasu!
