That is something I suggested a few bashos ago. I think it would be more competitive if the points were limited. I haven't seen the entries and points earned, but I would be surprised if not everyone chose going after all those points; thus the day's action would be pretty much a wash for meaningful change in the standings.

Otanjobi omedeto!!!!
-
Heck, I'm still #23! Go back and look for more errors!
-
I can buy as many as you like. This being the off season, they are just $5 in the oceanfront souvenir stores.
-
Yeah, by this time tomorrow I'll be 50,000 yen lighter and a Super Banzuke Yokozuna!
-
Well, Fuji-zeki, I'm heading off to bed to watch my alma mater the U take it to Notre Dame on my smartphone.. If you find your correct login info, I won't be available to enter for you.
-
Aha! An error! Here's my chance to climb!! Oh Uncle Kiyoshi! Come out from the alley behind the pachinko parlor and help Randomitsuki out as he recalculates the scoring.
-
And Sakura - ahem - do you have a Virginia Beach T??? Huh? HuH? Wouldn't you want one - or another one if you have one? Huh? Huh?
-
This game is totally evil! Why? Because I stink at it! This and Turn the Tide! ARGH!!!!

Chaingang is back up and working
-
I can't enter chaingang, either. It worked fine yesterday for me to register, so obviously the web page is bad. The ISP has the same website, so the site itself is not down.
-
I was able to get onto cibersumo website with no problem.I can log in fine, but when I tried to log in both your names and your password, neither worked. Are you sure about them? It's not the software that is keeping me out from logging you in. If you can give me the correct log in information, I can enter your team for you.

I greatly enjoy this nifty little game. I don;'t know why more don't join. Maybe if you offered a babe or stud muffin magnet Virginia Beach T-shirt as an incentive.
-
Always enjoy seeing my name waaaay down the list on this...NOT! I I was looking at the SB Masters and we are missing a lot of rikishi pictures. Sad that folks are intimidated by my good looks...NOT! :)
-
Aw shucks...just because I saved you from the old rec.sport.sumo newsgroup and led you to the (at that time) promised land of the sumo listserve, you don't have to call me Moses Gaijingai. But Jim Bitgood just told me that you really need a Cleveland Indians T-shirt. I don't know what you will attract with it..definitely not babes...but you may have a dog or cat follow you home.

None whatsoever. Works fine for me. http://www.cibersumo.com/en/ I am using Chrome for my browser.

Moti, because of your reports and pre-basho video report, last basho I got Jun-yusho in Bench Sumo and promotion to Sanyaku, a 13-2 in the Hoshitori Contest, a 14-1 in the UHD Contest, second in Ciber Sumo, won Salary Cap, and jun-yusho in Kumi. I owe you! How about a Boston Red Sox t-shirt to replace that piece of junk you are wearing? Or maybe another babe magnet Virginia Beach T?

I use www.cibersumo.com for banzuke and past results information. Make sure you hit the England flag on the upper right for the English version of the site. :) TYhe banzuke and past banzukes and results are on the upper left side. In between there is a sumo game. I play it. -
At least you can do Bench Sumo sitting down! And I have a message for you from Cousin Big Guido and Bruno the Bruiser: Sic 'em!

Fiction writer (and Sumo fan) looking for more insight into the life of a rikishi
Gaijingai replied to jranderson222's topic in Sumo Information
May I suggest two books: Gaijin Yokozuna: A Biography of Chad Rowan http://www.uhpress.hawaii.edu/p-4221-9780824830434.aspx Also: Takamiyama: The World of Sumo Available on Amazon.com They are both about gaijin, but give a great insight into the daily life of a rikishi. -
Is it possible for Survey Monkey to send some sort of receipt when we enter? Many of the daily games do that.
-
Good question. Back in the 1990's all of us on the Sumo Listserve were encouraged to adopt a rikishi to cheer for...their one-man koenkai, so to speak. I adopted a guy way down the banzuke. Soon after he got out of sumo another rikishi appeared with the same name. I thought, "That was fast!" I'll be interested in the answer. One thing I have been told, though, is although the name is pronounced the same, many of the resuses of the name are actually new names, as they use a different kanji or two than the original.
-
I will vouch for Gernobono. I know that twice in the previous basho or two, Survey Monkey did a couple cyber farts and entered another pick for two of us...including me as one. It has already done it to me again this basho.

And IMHO, this needs to be reinstated. Just saying. :)
