1 pointAccording to JP wikipedia, he was born on April 18 1871, which was the 29th day of the second lunar month on the old kyureki calendar. No source for this info, and EN wiki says 1 March for some reason.

1 pointMidorifuji has gotten married. The bride is Chihiro, 23, the daughter of an Isegahama beya's koenkai member. The two first met when she was 17, but only were casual acquaintances. They met again a couple of years ago, and soon after began a relationship. They got engaged in March of last year, a mere three months after they began dating, and welcomed a newborn daughter into the world last October (presumably the reason for the quick engagement). "Speed sumo," joked Midorifuji about the quickness of the relationship's progression. Article in Japanese

1 pointAnyone know what qualifications are required to be a ronin gyoji? Asking for a friend.
-
1 pointThat is former Chiganoura-beya gyoji Kimura Masatoshi, who quit as Sandanme-kaku some six years ago if memory serves. I understand he was also in the Sanctuary series, which I haven't seen so I don't know how much screen time he had. A gyoji-for-hire I guess.

1 pointTochimusashi was "facing" (rightly) popular Midorifuji so it wasn't easy to get any vote. Hakuyozan's result on the other hand isn't surprising for obvious different reasons...

0 pointsSome very sad news to report. Cal Martin, the former Araiwa, known in Japanese sumo circles during his active years as “the Crazy American” has passed away. The man did a lot of living in the time he was given. May he Rest In Peace.
