Greetings everyone! I was born in Japan in 1991, and was around 4-5 years old when I first started watching sumo. Little did I know then that I was in the boom years of the great Yokozuna Takanohana and Akebono - I just thought these were super cool big guys pushing each other around! Little me was so hooked on the sport, as was pretty much every kid in preschool. I moved to the United States when I was six, and totally forgot about Sumo for almost two decades, before out of curiosity I started watching again around the Aki Basho of 2014 (Ichinojo's makuuchi debut!) and got hooked all over again. In the tournaments since, I've done my best to gain knowledge and appreciate the technical side of the sport, and so I've been lurking around here and a few other places for a little while now. With the Natsu basho coming up, and my favorite rikishi Osunaarashi coming back from injury by dominating the Juryo ranks, I felt it was finally time to get an account. Looking forward to some lively discussion!

Heres the announcement we have all been waiting for....... "Grace Amziung is now online......." I have been waiting for this, for 8 yrs since Grace died and I cant tell you much that means to me...... The vocals and instruments are Wayne but the tune and the words are mine........(He is the better singer in the group--His singing is not so great but its better than mine and he is getting better with each song..) I should sau the middle eight is waynes,he added it after my work was done,,,, For those who dont know the midlde eight is the part that begins "Why does living go hand in hand with dying?" Search for Grace Amazing by Grimsby Reapers on you tube to hear it and let me know what you think..... Can someone post a link to it.I cant seem to do it myself.......

Kotokikutsugi? There is no such rikishi. You probably mean Kotoshougiku (talk about a really idiotic name change..), the guy somewhere waaay down in Makushita who you have been promising me for ages that will "happen" soon.. Well, the way things are going, I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you, since he is super-duper lame-o no goody goody..As for U's omnipotence, well..hehehee.. I'd switch "omni" for "im", and that would look much better from where I'm sitting.. Sorry for bumping this, but LOL :)

Takasaki today, about 4000 spectators Akebono visited the jungyo and the boss, his old rival and sumo-class-mate. A jungyo promoter is a friend and he was invited as guest. He stepped on the dohyo first and then Taka joined him and got the flowers. 3 years ago Akebono had paid him a visit as the Osaka basho responsible, last time they stood together on a dohyo was 13 years ago at Taka's danpatsu-shiki, their last bout was Kyushu 2000. http://www.nikkansports.com/battle/sumo/news/1632859.html http://www.hochi.co.jp/sports/sumo/20160416-OHT1T50131.html Shodai is from Kumamoto pref., where the epicenter of the mass of earthquakes is Checking the situation there: the city hall in ruins, where he got presented with a kesho mawashi end of March - but the house of his parents still stands and all are well - only the water service stopped. http://www.nikkansports.com/battle/sumo/news/1632831.html rikishi outside
