True .Many of them certainly didn't look like school kids. I watched some of it online and there was some fantastic sumo with a great variety of techniques. In fact it was a lot more interesting than most of the bouts we see in Ozumo. A few of them tried to copy Ura's signature moves like izori. They weren't always successful but i was impressed that they still knew when to abandon and try something else which can be tricky with those sacrifice throws .
You can still see some of it here right now (japan time 11.30am) http://www.inter-high-school.tv/ I suppose its a recording even though it says live.
One bloke just did a massive henka and was so proud of himself that he was nodding like a Rooster- but not a wooden one. Apart from that they are very disciplined and look after one another instead of those extra shoves we have been seeing lately during the basho. They also know exactly when to let go unlike with International amasumo.
It looks very well organised with no less that 40 officials visible next to the dohyo at any one time.
