If someone wants to put this in a nice voting format, go ahead. My two questions.

Kotooshu, Harumafuji, and Baruto have all held the top Ozeki rank (O1E). So.....
Of the 3 who haven't (Kotoshogiku, Kisenosato, Kakuryu).....

Which will be the first to achieve the O1E rank?

Which will be the last to achieve the O1E rank?

thanks.

(sort of makes me wonder how many ozekis have never been ranked in the top O1E slot...)

Starting from 1948, to exclude all periods during which rikishi could potentially be stuck on one side due to a tozai-style system:

Matsunobori (15 basho as ozeki)
Shionoumi (9)
Miyabiyama (8)

That's it, aside from the three active ones.

Maenoyama, as well. In fact he seemed to get stuck in an O2-Haridashi sandpit, and never made it to O1 anything.

Personally, I don't think there's a particular relevance in who gets to O1e first/last since they're all Ozeki. Baruto, for example, finished 10-5 in his Ozeki debut but then found himself as O1e in the following basho, because the other four all finished 9-6.

A question I've been considering is for how many basho will we have six Ozeki, until one of them leaves the rank (in either direction). I'm honestly not sure which will happen first - one of them being promoted to Yokozuna, or one of them dropping down. Or, I should say, "one or more of them leaves the rank", as it could happen simultaneously.

Whoops. I know I had him on my (text file) list, must've got lost in translation to the post.

And agreed that getting the top ozeki spot is a bit too random to make for a meaningful timeline question...

That has been the question also on my mind for some time now.
(Too lazy to make a poll, though..)
