Hello gamers,

the UDH entry form is ready now and waiting for your selections. Rules in a (very small) nutshell: Guess the thirteen makuuchi rikishi you expect to have the fewest wins this basho.

You may submit your entry at http://udh.seisa.de/udh_index.html.

Once you have selected your team, please root for them as much as you can. The game was not intended to honor any failure, but to stimulate interest in the less successful rikishi.

The deadline for your entries will be the first day of the basho (Sunday, March 11th) at 12pm Japanese Time.

Having a right old tussle with Charliki and Doitsuyama at the top of the standings here. Yoshikaze and Chiyonokuni pulling out gives me an extra 9 points guaranteed a day...not sure it will be enough as I need to win on points...would lose a tie-break.

There is a rikishi named Bengoshi who had 36 wins in the last three basho, the first from Komusubi. He deserves an Ozeki promotion,no?

According to that grid an 11-4 at Ozeki doesn't get you promoted to Yokozuna, yet the rule for Yokozuna promotion says "at least 11 wins in every one of the three basho". I take that to mean if you get an 11-4 in the third basho you get promoted, yet grid says no..
In any case, it doesn't say that additionally to the 34 wins, you have to win 11 in your third basho, even if the grid says so.
I must be missing something here..

And to seal this argument, we go with precedence: Didn't take me long to find one-Kyushu 2011- GONZABUROW gets promoted with an overall record of 34-11 from Sekiwake WEST (Bengoshi is 36-9 from Sekiwake EAST). Score for GONZABUROW'S third basho - 10-5.
I rest my case.

Same deal - as the grid says, in addition to every basho score being >=11, the final one specifically must be >=12:

Ozeki and Yokozuna promotions have additional requirements.

Additional to the matrix listed right before that statement, that is.

I dunno about the Gonzaburow promotion, maybe Tamanaogijima took pity on the perpetual drunkard. ;-)

Edit: I see there was another 10-5 promotion in Hatsu 2011, so I guess the 11-4 requirement is no more indeed.

The standings have been changed accordingly.

Wait a moment here : How come I didn't get promoted after Hatsu 2012, though I had 37 wins over the last 3 bashos (being san'yaku in all these bashos) ?

Let me add that I asked that very question 2 months ago, and got the answer mentionned above that it was because I hadn't got the minimum 11 wins required by the grid...
